Ourense and Celanova are connected by dual carriageway managed by an associate company partly owned by Extraco

The companies Extraco and Copasa from Ourense constructed the new Ourense-Celanova dual carriageway with an investment of 121,8 million euros and an associate company partly owned by Extraco is exploiting it. It has 18,744 metres long and 25.5 metres wide and it consists of two carriageways separated by a concrete median, double 3.5 metres lanes, 2.5 metres exterior hard shoulders and 1.5 metres interior hard shoulders.

The layout includes three broad range viaducts: Rego de Porto with 160 metres, Arnoia with 199 metres and Ourille with 120 metres, in addition, the building of thirteen overpasses and eighteen underpasses and five accesses: first one to provide a convenient connection from A-52 and the rest located in A Merca, A Barxa, centre of Celanova and South of Celanova.

The dual carriageway serves an area where 130,000 people live and it was designed with high safety standards.

The concessionaire company, Aucel, S.A., was created in 2009 and is owned by Extraco. Aucel, S.A. is exploiting this infraestructure under shadow toll system with a duration of 30 years. The president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alberto Nuñez Feijóo, inaugurated the works on January 28, 2013.
