This summer, the town of O Milladoiro, located in the municipality of Ames (A Coruña), is showcasing the deep transformation of its main artery, the N-550, following the completion of an ambitious pedestrian-friendly redesign project executed by a joint venture featuring Extraco as a member partner.

Commissioned by the Ministry of Transportation and Sustainable Mobility, the project involved redesigning the public space, widening sidewalks, creating an accessible pedestrian route and a bike lane, adding landscaped areas, reorganizing intersections and access points, and refurbishing two roundabouts.

This pedestrian-friendly initiative also meant that the road was reduced to a single lane in each direction for vehicular traffic.
