The town of Olmedo, in Valladolid, enjoys its refurbished swimming pools

This summer, the Castilian town of Olmedo enjoys a complex of swimming pools which has been recently renovated thanks to the works of Extraco and funding of both the Town Council and the Provincial Council of Valladolid.

The work, which will continue after the summer season, has brought about significant improvements in the car park, changing rooms and bar, as well as a total remodelling of the children’s swimming pool, with modern technology and automated systems to reduce maintenance costs. In this case, the water surface was doubled, the pool was equipped with slightly-sloping entrance ramps with non-slip surface, children’s games were installed in the pool and a new area with rubber flooring was added to minimise risks.

The refurbishment also included a new perimeter closing and the renovation of the water purification equipment with technology that will ensure a significant reduction in chlorine levels.

Another action improved the main building by installing non-slip flooring and a water-pressure device to clean the changing rooms, and making improvements in isolation with a new roof and external closing. Moreover, shady areas were provided at the exit of the changing rooms and bar, with an automatic water spray system.

Likewise, the car park has been equipped with bigger, two-way roads, parking spaces for disabled people and bicycles, better lighting and renovated transit areas.
