Water, Culture and Society is the slogan of the VI Encontro organised by the Ordem dos Engenheiros de Portugal-Regiao Norte, and the Colegio de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos of Galicia, that in this occasion coincides with the II International Congress of Civil Engineering and Territory Galicia-North of Portugal. Extraco appears in the list of contributors of this congress, fixed for the days 20 and 21 of May in the Social Centre Novacaixagalicia of Vigo (Pontevedra).

The program have three working groups: Water and Energy, Water and Society and Water and Firms. Extraco prepared a specific communication for the congress, titled Application of the mobile unit of inspection Sitegi for analysis and conservation of the hydraulic cultural heritage, using as example the spectacular results obtained with this initiative of R&D in the rehabilitation of the Roman Bridge of Lugo.

The project Sitegi, developed by the University of Vigo with several companies (Extraco and Misturas among them; the second firm is the adjudicator of the referred reform realised in Lugo), is a new system of management, analysis and inspection of linear infrastructures. It allows to take data automatically and applies in an only mobile unit of inspection the last advances for the acquisition of quantitative and qualitative information of the structures studied and of the internal state of its materials. In particular, it includes laser mobile scanner 3D, GPR, profilometry and thermografic cameras. The information is finally integrated in the system all together, and allows to prioritise with enormous reliability the performances of maintenance and conservation that need these infrastructures.
