The new Art School in Valladolid, built with the help of EXTRACO, opens its doors for the 2022/2023 academic year

The start of the 2022/2023 academic year has coincided with the opening of the new College of Arts and Cultural Preservation in Valladolid.  These premises can be found at the La Rondilla neighborhood, next to the “Santa Teresa” secondary school (in a space previously occupied by old classrooms and the gym). In addition to completely refurbishing existing buildings, the new school is now equipped with modern facilities that replace the ones historically located at Calle Leopoldo Cano.

With a surface area of over 9,700 m2, it offers classes to high school students specializing in artistic disciplines and Higher-Level Vocational Training (illustration and decoration workshops; forging, printing, woodwork, and stone workshops; modelling and preservation techniques; rehabilitation and restoration workshops; photographic laboratory and warehouses). Moreover, the building boasts common spaces available to the teaching community (staffrooms, offices, and rooms for administrative purposes).

The new Art School, run by the Education Department of the Regional Government of Castille-León, can host up to 540 students and has been built thanks to a joint venture between EXTRACO and Gómez Crespo (both constructing companies from Ourense).
