Lay of the foundation stone of the new “Cruce de Sol y Mar” roundabout in Oleiros, A Coruña (Spain)

The lay of the foundation stone and the commencement of the renovation works of the “Cruce de Sol y Mar” in Perillo, Oleiros (A Coruña, Spain), took place last 15th December. This symbolic act was presided by Javier Losada, Government Delegate in Galicia, and Ángel García Seoane, mayor of Oleiros (both depicted in the image), accompanied by technicians of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda and representatives of the construction companies that will carry out the work. EXTRACO, together with Civis Global and Misturas, participates in the Temporary Joint Venture that will build the new infrastructure, budgeted at more than nine million euros and with an estimated expected completion date by the first half of 2023.

This work allows the substitution of the current intersection of roads AC-12 and AC-174 for a new interchange with an overhead roundabout, where the main section of the road will extend underground between slurry walls reinforced with piles, thus improving the traffic flow and safety of the section.

The neighbors of Perillo have been asking the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda for this work for a long time, due to the danger of the junction, with high traffic density on this section of the former N-VI road.
