The University of A Coruña recognizes Extraco’s support to R&D&I projects

The University of A Coruña (UDC) has just recognized Extraco’s commitment and contribution to Research, Development and Innovation (R&D&I) projects launched by this University.
In December, the entity organized a conference entitled “The UCD and businesses: successes achieved and new opportunities for cooperation”, which took place at the vice-chancellor’s office. Francisco Javier Prego Martínez, on behalf of Extraco, was in charge of collecting one of the recognition diplomas given by the University to different corporate partners.
Extraco is currently working with the Construction Group of the School of Civil Engineering on the project named “Biovalvo”, which is aimed at evaluating the use of mussel shells in construction. The research is coordinated by Lecturer Belén González Fonteboa and Professor Fernando Martínez Abella.
The ceremony was chaired by the Vice-chancellor of the UCD, Xosé Luis Armesto Barbeito, and attended by the Deputy Vice-chancellor of Research and Knowledge Transfer, Ricardo Cao Abad, and the Assistant of Knowledge Transfer, Jerónimo Puertas. Besides, the head of the Department of Foreign Technological Action of the Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), Emilio Iglesias Cadarso, delivered a lecture on technological cooperation and internationalization of companies. Likewise, Elena Polo, on behalf of Axencia Galega de Innovación (The Galician Innovation Agency), explained the different autonomic cooperation grants planned for 2015.
