EXTRACO was one of the companies invited by the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN) to participate as a speaker at the online series “Materials for the future”, organized by this body together with the Center for Innovation and Technology and Design Services in Ferrol (CIS Ferrol). Specifically, EXTRACO participated in the second workshop of the series, held last October 22^nd and entitled “Materials for the contract”. The session was devoted to explaining the characteristics and applications of innovative materials that, thanks to their properties, are suitable to be used in architecture, furniture and decoration.

At EXTRACO’s speech, entitled “Valorization of ashes for eco-construction in civil works and architecture”, the building materials designed in the project “Cenicienta” were presented. This project won the competitive call CONECTAPEME 2016 (Ref. IN852A 2016/178): new types of mortar, concrete and pavement that incorporate thermal plant bottom ashes in their composition. Together with EXTRACO, the Automotive Technology Centre of Galicia (CTAG), the Construction Group of the University of A Coruña (gCONS), Vertifil and Materially also participated in the conference, as well as the representatives of the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (IGAPE) and of the Galician Forest Industry Agency (XERA), thus taking part in a technical session opened by the Director of GAIN, Patricia Argerey.
