The Xunta de Galicia (regional government of Galicia) has awarded Extraco the contract for the road safety improvement works on Otero Pedrayo Avenue in Ourense, which will start before the end of March and are expected to last 12 months.

The renovation works will focus on the refurbishment of the first two kilometers of the aforementioned avenue, with the aim of enabling urban integration and reducing the risks for pedestrians and drivers. Thus, part of the works will be carried out in some of the intersections and two roundabouts will be built, one of them on the access to Campus Norte and A Asunción parish church and another one on the access to the A Rabaza district.

Improvement works will also be carried out on the side street, where pavements will be repaired and new ones will be built, maintenance works will be carried out on current service roads, the supply, drainage and sanitation network will be renovated and LED street lighting will be installed. The works also include the repair of the road surface, the reorganization of the parking spaces and the installation of traffic lights to improve road mobility in the area.
