Support to the “A trip through Civil Engineering” Exhibition, organized by the Madrid Association of Civil Engineering

The seventh edition of the Civil Engineering Week held last March in Madrid  was proof of the significant influence of this profession on people’s lives. With an interesting exhibition full of virtual reality, visits to the most relevant infrastructures of the capital of Spain and many leisure activities,  the Civil Engineering Association of Madrid paid tribute to the job under the slogan “Engineering brings us together”.

EXTRACO was one of the sponsors of the initiative and one of its main references was the exhibition entitled “A trip through Civil Engineering”. It  was set up using 6 containers used for the transportation of goods, measuring between 12 and 6 meters long. In total, an area of 350 square meters to enjoy an immersive experience completed with workshops, conferences and the recording of a live daily podcast.

The activities of the Week also included guided visits to different infrastructures of Madrid, such as the historical simulator of the subway, peculiar squares, the covering works of the new stadium Mahou-Calderón, the electrical substation of Spain Square (Plaza de España), the Metropolitan Forest , the Traffic Management Center of Madrid Central Area, the Hospital 12 de Octubre or the new Colón Towers, among many other constructions executed by civil engineers.
