The Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification (Aenor) (Asociación Española de Normalización y Certificación) has just audited and given its conformity for evaluation process of R&D&i Management System of Extraco under UNE-EN-ISO 166002:2006 standard. This system was created in 2009 to coordinate all Technological Research, Development and Innovation activities carried out by the company.

In particular, the certification covers the R&D&i actions related to the reuse and recycling of materials and waste management applied to the production of asphalt concrete, Road Safety Devices, Inspection Technologies for Roadway and Infrastructures and Corrosion Control for Reinforced Concrete.

The weight of research and innovation projects is growing in Extraco every year. Before the creation of the Management System certified by AENOR, between the years 2006 and 2009, Extraco was involved in interesting actions about optimization of road safety solutions through the operations of roadway conservation, preventive treatments for roads in winter or design of a satellite positioning system for improvement of snow ploughs and supplementary vehicles fleet management.

Nowadays, the company is collaborating in many R&D&i projects with “Plataforma Tecnológica Ferroviaria Española (PTFE)”, “Plataforma Tecnolóxica Galega de Medio Ambiente”, Universities of A Coruña and Vigo, or the “Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial (CDTI)”.
