The Panamanian Department of Architecture and Engineering was in charge of its draft project.<\/p>\n<p>The project involves the construction of new buildings that will house different areas: cells pavilion, canteen and other cells pavilion, administrative areas, requisition and waiting rooms, cafeteria and rooms for guard duty and monitoring of the prisoners. It also includes the building of four new watchtowers that will provide the facilities with the most modern penitentiary security measures and the demolition of several dilapidated buildings.<\/p>\n<p>The budget for the construction works, located in the avenue Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar of the city of Col\u00f3n, goes up to three million dollars.
