The technical and human resources allocated for the contract of road maintenance in the North of Pontevedra, managed by a EXTRACO-MISTURAS temporary joint venture, have actively collaborated in sanitation works of streets and roads to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Galicia. Since the pandemic started, the vehicles used for winter road maintenance operations have been used to spray a hypochlorite disinfecting solution on streets and squares. This action has been promoted by the Spanish Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, in coordination with the Government Delegation in Galicia and the Demarcation of State Roads.

The contract of road maintenance in the North of Pontevedra involves the maintenance of important roads such as the sections of State highways N-525, N-550 and N-640 that go through this province. Among the most important sanitation actions against COVID-19 are the interventions by the local governments of Vilagarcía de Arousa, Marín and Tui last April.
